Inspection
FutureFlue will carry out a full inspection of the property, this will enable us to establish the category of smoke as well as the full scope of the damage. A damage report is generally required by the insurance loss adjuster before work can begin, we will compile this report using the information acquired during the initial survey and inspection.Secondary Damage
Secondary damage is damage which occurs in the hours, days and weeks following a fire/smoke damage event. Initial secondary damage can include: Soot & smoke particles becoming entrapped in contents and building materials, water damage where water has been used to extinguish the fire, etc.Further secondary damage will occur the longer the property remains before remedial works are carried out. This damage can include: Mould growth, rusting of metals where high humidity levels mix with acidic soot particles, permanent staining of PVC and plastics, etc. Damage such as this can be avoided if preventative measures are put in place as soon as possible after an occurrence.
Structural Damage & Cleaning
Dependent on the intensity and category of fire some of the building elements may be beyond economic repair, in this case we remove these for disposal before starting the cleaning process. Ceilings, walls, woodwork, fittings, floors, etc. all need thorough cleaning to remove the source of any odour. Using specialist chemicals, equipment and knowledge we will remove odours and ensure that any smoke staining will not be evident when painting and decoration has taken place.Building Repairs & Redecoration
